SOMMAIRE
01. Golden rules
To keep your Les Tropéziennes shoes by M. Belarbi's shoes in good condition for as long as possible, it’s important to look after them properly. Try our tips below to keep them looking good :
- Waterproof your shoes before wearing them and remember to repeat this regularly
- Use shoe trees and store your shoes carefully.
- If your shoes have got water on them, let them dry in a dark place and away from anyany heat sources.
- Avoid wearing the same pair of shoes for two days in a row.
- We recommend adding sole protector pads to the leather soles so that they last longer. This also prevents you from slipping !
02. Regular leather
Nothing could be simpler when it comes to keeping your regular leather shoes looking good. Just follow our advice below :
- Waterproof your leather shoes before you wear them first to protect them from any potential stains and rain.
- After you’ve worn them several times, dust them off then apply a moisturising cream with a chamois cloth.
- If you want to restore the leather’s colour, you can apply a shoe polish of the same colour.
03. Patent leather
Patent leather does not require special care before you wear it. The leather already has a lacquer coat so it is very easy to look after :
- Use a damp or dry cloth to dust your shoes.
- You can then apply a special patent leather spray to restore all the shine and prevent the lacquer from cracking.
04. Suede
Suede is a fragile leather that requires special maintenance :
- Waterproof your leather shoes before you wear them first to protect them from any potential stains and rain.
- After you’ve worn them several times, you can use a special brush or an old toothbrush for dusting and/or removing stains.
- Remember to re-waterproof your shoes regularly !
05. Cracked or iridescent leather
Cracked or iridescent leather is more fragile than other kinds of leather and requires special maintenance :
- Waterproof your leather shoes before you wear them first to protect them from any potential stains and rain.
- Do not brush your shoes under any circumstances! This could irrevocably damage the leather. You can use a damp chamois cloth to clean your leather.
06. Textile & canvas
Nothing could be simpler when it comes to keeping your textile or canvas shoes in good condition. Just follow our advice :
- Do not put your shoes in the washing machine as this could damage the sole. Clean any stains with a damp cloth and a little Marseilles soap or natural stain remover.
- To clean the soles of your trainers, get an old toothbrush and apply a little white toothpaste. Gently rub the rubber without touching the canvas or leather. Then gently rinse the toothpaste off using a damp cloth.
